Teddy’s Forecast

Monday 9/30/24

Potential hurricane surf on the way next week!  For now, onshore flow continues from the weak, meandering low off the coast.  Short period E swell will remain in the 4′ range today through Wednesday with continued onshore winds .  Looks like we could see cleaner surf  Thursday and Friday with slack winds so definitely worth checking early both days.  The weekend looks rideable and winds will be NW so expect clean small 2-3′ lines.

The good news is that we have tropical waves forming off the African coast!  Current models are showing the first one to form into a tropical storm within the next 36 hours.  The forecasted track looks perfect for sedning swell to the East Coast….first lines could be this Sunday, and by Monday we could be looking at solid, overhead hurricane surf. I will keep you guys updated all week!

Water is around 70 so go light on the neoprene.

Have fun!!! TeddyD
