The surfing world lost a Legend last week, world renowned shaper Terry Martin passed on in his home last thursday after a lengthy battle with melanoma(Skin Cancer).
Terry spent the majority of his 60 year Career shaping boards at Hobie, where he was given a job by Hobie Alter himself in 1963. His hands helped create boards for the likes of Hobie team riders, Gary Propper, Corky Carroll, Gerry Lopez, Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew and more. Shaping some 80,000 boards in his lifetime, both wood and foam blanks, his legacy will not soon be forgotten. For more on Terry check out this surfline.com article.
